Cookies and browser storage / Effective 1 January 2026
Storage
Reading an essay should not require an advertising profile. This notice explains the browser features used by the publication and the local letter tool.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small records that a website can ask your browser to store and return on later requests. localStorage and sessionStorage are separate browser storage mechanisms. Such technologies can support essential functions or optional purposes, depending on how they are used.
The editorial application does not set analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies. Its navigation, FAQ disclosures and scroll effects work without persistent reader identifiers. The application script does not store contact drafts in cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage.
Consent controls
If a separate site-level consent control is displayed, it is responsible for recording the choice shown in that control. Choosing Essential Only should leave optional processing disabled; choosing Accept permits only the optional purposes actually described there. A consent choice does not send a contact letter or subscribe you to correspondence.
Optional storage, if introduced, must be explained before it is used and offered with an appropriate choice where required by law. This publication does not include optional analytics or advertising services in its editorial pages.
What the letter tool does
The contact tool holds your draft in the current page while you work. The Copy button requests access to write the prepared text to your clipboard. The Download .txt button creates a file only when you choose it. Neither action delivers a message to the publisher.
Clipboard content and downloaded files can persist outside the webpage. Your browser may also restore form fields or save autofill information according to your settings. Manage these through your browser or operating system, particularly on shared devices.
Browser cache and delivery
Browsers may cache page files and images to load them efficiently. Network delivery also exposes technical request information to the hosting infrastructure. A browser cache is not the same as a tracking cookie, and deleting cookies does not necessarily delete cached files, downloads or email.
Images are served as local site assets rather than embedded through an external photography service. External reference links take you to another site only when you follow them; that site’s own storage practices then apply.
Managing stored information
Your browser settings let you inspect and remove cookies and site data for crimsonvalleybanter.live. Clearing site data may remove any choice recorded by a separate consent control. To remove a downloaded letter, delete the file from your device; to remove copied text, replace or clear the clipboard using your device controls.
