How this publication handles data
This notice explains the handling of personal information in connection with crimsonvalleybanter.live. The data controller is Crimsonvalleybanter Systems Ltd, company no. 14963825, registered office: 24 High Street, Oxford, OX1 4AG, United Kingdom.
Reading the publication
The site provides static editorial pages without reader accounts, advertising scripts or analytics code in its published application. Delivering a webpage nevertheless involves technical information such as an IP address, requested path, browser information and request time. Hosting and security providers may process access records to deliver and protect the service.
Where we process technical information for security and reliable delivery, our basis is legitimate interests in maintaining an accessible, secure publication. We seek to limit information to what is necessary and do not use it to build advertising profiles.
The contact letter tool
The letter tool processes the name, email address, subject and message you enter within your browser. It does not submit those fields to us, use browser localStorage for them or automatically create a server-side record. Copying writes the prepared text to your device clipboard when permitted. Downloading creates a text file on your device.
Your browser or device may retain form history, clipboard content or downloaded files under its own settings. Clear these through your device controls if needed. Closing or leaving the page is not a promise that your browser will erase information it has independently retained.
Correspondence you send
If you email us, we receive your address, message content, attachments and associated email metadata. We use this information to answer questions, assess corrections and maintain relevant editorial records. Our usual basis is legitimate interests in managing correspondence. Legal obligations may require us to retain or disclose particular records.
We do not automatically publish private correspondence. If we wish to attribute a reader’s contribution publicly, we will seek appropriate permission or another lawful basis. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
Retention and recipients
We retain correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed for its purpose, including follow-up, correction records and the establishment or defence of legal claims. We review retained information and remove material that no longer serves a necessary purpose. Technical record retention depends on the relevant security or hosting function.
Service providers involved in hosting, email and security may handle data on our behalf under appropriate arrangements. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary for legal claims. We do not sell personal information. If processing involves transfers outside the United Kingdom, applicable legal safeguards must be used where required.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law and exemptions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Send requests to [email protected]. We may need proportionate information to confirm identity. We respond within the applicable legal timescale, normally one month, with any permitted extension explained.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or another competent supervisory authority. You can contact us first, but you do not have to do so before raising a concern with an authority.
